- A dense essence block can be used on the dark altar (requires 100% favour with the Arceuus House) found north-west of the dense runestone mines to infest them with dark power, turning them into dark essence blocks. These dark essence blocks can be crushed with a chisel to turn into dark essence fragments.
- A dark essence block is an item created by using dense essence blocks on the Dark Altar located in the northern area of the Arceuus House in Great Kourend. Creating dark essence blocks require 100% favour with the Arceuus House. You need a chisel and a pickaxe to obtain the dark essence blocks.
- Upon reaching 25% Arceuus favour, you will be able to access the essence mine. You’ll gain the ability to mine dense essence blocks, which are used in Runecrafting for blood runes, soul runes and teleportation tablets. Additionally, once reaching 100% favour, you can convert dense essence to dark essence. One interesting NPC is Regath.

Useful Items
Pickaxes
These are the tools you will need to have either equipped or in your inventory to train the skill of Mining. It is always best to use the highest tier of pickaxe available at your mining level. The higher level the pickaxe, the higher the chances of obtaining an ore from the rocks. There are currently 11 types of pickaxes in game with most following the standard metal types. If you decide to start training your Mining level at one instead of questing, it's advisable to skip bronze and begin with iron as they are both available at level 1.
Dense Essence Osrs Ge
From there on the next levels of pickaxes are unlocked as follows: Steel at level 6, Black at level 11, Mithril at level 21, Adamant at level 31, Rune at level 41, Dragon at level 61, Thirdage at level 61 (Cosmetic difference to Dragon only) and the Crystal pickaxe at level 71 (Req. Song of the Elves, 50 Agility). Dragon, Thirdage and Crystal pickaxes have a special attack called Rock Knocker. This special attack temporarily raises the player’s Mining level by 3, consuming 100% of the special attack energy. *Note: Players can use the pickaxes that correspond with their Mining levels even if they do not have the Attack level to equip them.
Prospector Outfit
This outfit provides up to a 2.5% Exp boost in Mining when worn in its entirety. Individual pieces do provide a fewer than 1% Exp boost on their own, so it is wise to wear them as they are unlocked. Players can unlock the outfit via the Motherlode Mine located in the Dwarven Mine. While we will expand on the aspects of the MLM later in this guide, note that the full outfit costs 180 Gold Nuggets, taking approximately 12- 15 hours to achieve.
Varrock Armour
Varrock Armour is the chest slot of the Achievement Diary rewards. The platebody grants the wearer a chance of receiving two ores (including the Exp) instead of one while mining ore. The percentage of chance is set at 10% however the types of ores the effect works on depends on the tier of diary you have completed and are as follows: Varrock Armour 1 - Up to Coal, Varrock Armour 2 - Up to Mithril, Varrock Armour 3 - Up to Adamant, Varrock Armour 4 - Up to Amethyst. Due to Prospector outfit offering superior Exp bonuses, Varrock Armour should only be worn when Mining ore for profit or if playing Ironman Mode.
Mining Gloves
These gloves come in three tiered variants and provide a percentage chance that the ore vein mined will not be depleted. The gloves are obtained inside the Mining guild (Req. 60 Mining) by trading in Unidentified Minerals. Mining gloves affect the depletion of Silver, Coal and Gold ore. Superior Mining gloves affect depletion of Mithril, Adamant and Rune ores. Expert Mining gloves affect depletion rates of all ore Silver through Amethyst. These gloves should be used if Mining ores for profit along with the Varrock Armour. Expert Mining gloves can take upwards of 10 hours to obtain.
Coal Bag
Exactly as it sounds, the coal bag can hold 27 pieces of coal. This is again purchased through Motherlode Mine for 100 Nuggets. Only useful for Ironmen mining coal or all players if smithing bars at the Blast Furnace.
Gem Bag
The Gem Bag is another item unlocked through the Motherlode Mine at a cost of 100 Nuggets. The bag can store up to 60 of each uncut gem (Totalling 300). The gem bag saves inventory space when mining Gem rocks, while on Slayer tasks and a multitude of other activities.
Fastest Mining Exp Methods
Copper / Tin Ore (1-15)
Although ill advised due to slow Exp rates, disregarding Questing, Mining Copper and Tin ore are the fastest way to begin your Mining journey. The best place to do so is in the Lumbridge Swamp mine where both types of ore are located. Do not bank the ore unless you are an ironman, as this will drastically slow down your already slow Exp rates. Players will need to 138 of either ore to reach level 15.
Questing (1 - 37)
Parallels 11 activation key free. By doing the low requirement Quests: Doric's Quest, The Dig Site, Plague City, The Giant Dwarf, The Lost Tribe and Another Slice of H.A.M, you can skip right to 37 mining and avoid the slow Exp of low level training.
Iron Ore (15 - 60)
Surprisingly, power mining (not banking ore) Iron ore is the fastest method to get your mining level up in the game. Taking advantage of three rock mining spots is key to power mining. These are located in Al-kharid, Legends Guild, Piscatoris, Verdant Valley and Mount Karuulm. Without tick manipulation, players can expect 45k - 55k Exp per hour.
Iron Ore in Mining Guild (60 - 75/99)
At level 60, the Mining Guild is accessible. The Guild is located just south of Falador East bank. This is a popular location to power mine due to invisible +7 boost it gives to a player's Mining level. The guild also halves the respawn rate of mined rocks, leading to Exp rates of up to 70k per hour.
Volcanic Mine (85 - 99)
WARNING, THIS IS A DANGEROUS MINIGAME! Although players are able to participate in the Volcanic Mine Minigame at level 50 mining, the Exp rates do not surpass Power Mining Iron ore until level 85. Additionally 150 Kudos are required to enter. This minigame focuses on teamwork with other players to maximize Exp rates. Located under the Fossil Island Volcano, players must pay a fee of 30 Numulites per entry into the mine. Once entered players will have 10 minutes to mine and exit, any stragglers will be killed by the erupting volcano. The main objective of the Minigame is to mine the boulder that is floating inside of the lava stream to receive Ore Fragments.
To reach the boulder players will need to use their Heat-proof Vessels to pour water (35 uses) on the lava, cooling it and allowing them to walk or stand on it for 90 seconds. While the objective is to mine the boulder, players must also be wary of the pressure inside the mine indicated by a percentage on the screen. If players fail to keep the pressure inside the mine between 40 - 60%, the mine will become more and more unstable and may collapse. To moderate the pressure players must locate the Gas Vents. To increase the pressure players need to block them with a large rock. Conversely, to decrease pressure in the mine, players need to mine the large rocks away from the vents. Players on the lower floor should protect Missiles to reduce the damage done by NPCs to a max hit of 1.
Before the 10 minutes is up, players need to have exited the mine, at which point their fragments will be automatically collected and they will receive participation points based on their performance inside the minigame. At the end of the game, players will receive 3.8 Mining Exp per point they have earned. With the experience given per point you can expect between 75k - 90k Mining Exp depending on points and Mining level, making this a fun alternative to power Mining iron ore.
3 Tick Granite Mining (75 - 99)
Registry cleaner pro keygen. Achieving the highest possible Mining Exp rates in game requires players to learn tick manipulation. Granite is available to mine inside the Quarry located inside of the Kharidian Desert only. Three tick mining takes advantage of a game mechanic allowing players to complete and action faster than it would otherwise take if done normally. While difficult to learn, Exp rates can reach upwards of 125k Exp per hour. I recommend watching a guide on tick manipulation if you are interested in learning the most efficient way to train as it is very click intensive and hard to master.
AFK / Money Making Mining Methods
Motherlode Mine (30 - 99)
Motherlode Mine becomes accessible at level 30. Located in the Dwarven Mines, this optional training method is popular for its decent Exp rates while also being fairly AFK. Instead of mining ore, players mine ore veins located throughout the area to achieve Pay-dirt. Once a full inventory of Pay-dirt has been collected, they need to be deposited into the hopper where they are cleaned and become available for pick up. The ores received are based on the players Mining level while the Pay-dirt was mined and range from Coal to Runite. Besides the Pay-dirt, players can also receive Gems while mining and the chance to receive Golden Nuggets upon collection of the cleaned ore.
These Nuggets are a vital part of MLM and a large reason players choose this route to gain Exp. They can be used to purchase the Prospectors Outfit, Coal Bag, Gem Bag, Larger Pay-dirt sack and access to the Upper floor of the mine (Req. 72 Mining). While Exp rates are slower than power mining Iron ore, you will make a steady flow of OSRS Gold while here, starting at 15k and reaching upwards of 300k OSRS Gold per hour at level 99. Exp rates for Motherlode Mine begin at 15k and steadily increase up to 54k Exp per hour at level 99.
Gem Rocks (60+)
Gem Rocks are located inside of Shilo Village and in the Lunar Isles mine. Gem rocks are exactly what they sound like and offer players the opportunity to mine a rock giving gems from Opals to Diamonds. Gem Rocks can be mined beginning at level 40 but level 60+ is recommended. Wearing a charged Amulet of Glory increases the rate at which the rocks are mined, and Gem Bags are heavily encouraged to limit time banking. Players can average 300 - 600 Gems per hour netting an impressive 250k - 650k OSRS Gold per hour. Exp rates can reach up to 50k per hour.
With the high prices of gems, be sure to check out GameZod for the best place to buy and sell osrs gold!
Blast Mining (75+)
The Blast Mine minigame is located in the northern section of Lovakengj and requires 100% Lovakengj favor to participate in. This minigame does not require a pickaxe, however instead players are required to use Dynamite, a tinderbox and a chisel to access the ore. After chiseling the hard rock out of the way, players use Dynamite on the rock and light the fuse and move a minimum of three squares away from the spot or will take damage from the explosion. Once the explosion has excavated the ore, players will need to collect the blasted ore and deposit it in a similar fashion as Motherlode Mine.
However, unlike Motherlode Mine, players can deposit into the sack until it reaches 450 pieces of a single type of ore. When the sack is full the play simply needs to talk to the operator to collect their mining experience and their ores. Also different from Motherlode Mine, the Blast Mine offers players the chances to receive ores up to ten levels above their mining levels. Assuming you can average 300 dynamite used per hour, Blast Mining can net up to 550k OSRS Gold per hour at level 75 Mining. The Exp received is on par with Motherlode Mine, averaging 55k Mining Exp per hour.
Mining Rune Rocks (85+)
While Mining Runite is often thought of as an activity left to bots, it remains a profitable activity for those who wish to risk their loot in the Wilderness. Requiring a minimum of level 85 Mining, the Exp received is exceptionally low, reaching only 6k Mining Exp per hour. The most common place for players to mine the rocks are North of the Lava Maze where two rocks in close proximity are present. A Looting Bag will help limit banking by holding up to 28 additional ore. Due to the slow respawn rate of the ore, it’s advisable to hop worlds after mining the two available ore per world. This method can net up to 650k OSRS Gold per hour if efficient.
Mining Amethyst Crystals (92+)
Currently the highest level ore players can mine, Amethyst offers a more AFK alternative to Runite mining. Although exclusively located inside the Mining Guild, players cannot mine Amethyst Crystals until they have 92 mining, invisible boosts do not affect this skill requirement. Players can plan to average 80 - 100 Crystals per hour. Thanks to Amethyst being used in high level ranging ammunition, players can bring a chisel and make the Crystals into javelin heads while mining to maximize both Exp and OSRS Gold per hour. Since there is no need to bank if crafting the Crystals, this method can net up to 340k OSRS Gold per hour and roughly 19k Mining Exp per hour.
OSRS Money Making Methods - Easy
Let's be honest - we all need OSRS Gold. Whether you're out for that twisted bow, or even a dragon scimitar, a few extra GP wouldn't be that bad. However, with a game like Runescape, and the plethora of things to do, finding a viable money-making method can be quite intimidating. Luckily, at PartyPeteShop, we've brought you our favorite consistent, relatively low-medium level money makers for Runescape. Try them all and find which one works for you!
Killing Ankous - 140k/h
Requirements: Combat stats to kill multiple level 75s.
Ask any slayer expert, Ankous are absolutely amazing money and exp for such an easy monster. For this Runescape money making method, you'll simply need some extremely basic combat equipment to kill these level 75s (trust me - they're really weak!), and some food. Quick tip -since Ankous are weak to melee, we suggest bringing melee equipment.
Once you've got everything, it's time to head to Barbarian Village. More specifically, you'll need to go down to the Stronghold of Security, using the hole as shown on the map. Navigating through the mazes of each level, you'll find yourself on the bottom floor, the “Sepulchre of Death†floor. And as shown on the map, all you need to do is make your way to the purple dot, and there you go - you've found the Ankous! From there, it's as simple as killing them, collecting a full inventory, heading back up to the surface, bank, and rinse and repeat! For even faster trips, we recommend teleport tablets.
Mining Iron Ore - 150k/h
Requirements: 15 Mining
Here's one for all you Runescape Free to Play players out there - Mining Iron Ore. For this relatively simple OSRS money making guide, you'll just need the best pickaxe you can use (Just in case you forgot, use an Iron Pickaxe at level 1, Steel at level 6, Black at level 11, Mithril at level 21, Adamant at level 31, Rune at 41 and if you've got the money; Dragon at 61). Quick tip - if you've got the armor from Varrock Easy Diaries - wear it! It gives you a 10% chance to double up on your ores, which will add up over time.
With your pickaxe, head over to the south-west Varrock mine, as shown on the map. From there, simply mine away at the iron rocks. Once you've accumulated a full inventory, simply head up north to the Varrock West bank, and keep going! In no time, you'll have thousands of iron ore, and some mining levels as well!
Crafting Teleport to House Tablets - 155k/h
Requirements: 40 Magic
Ask any OSRS Player how much they use their teleport to house tablets - and it'll amaze you! Therefore, it only makes sense to capitalize on this, and make some house teleport tablets of our own. Plus, this method is extremely AFK! For this OSRS Money Making method, you'll need to get either an amulet or glory or a ring dueling, an air staff, some soft clay (depending on the amount of teleport tablets you wish to make), law runes, earth runes, and a teleport to a house which has a mahogany eagle lectern in it. Also, if there's a portal chamber in the house you're using, that saves you an inventory spot.
To start, with your items equipped and, in your inventory, fill up the rest of the spots in your inventory with soft clay. Next, head to your chosen house with the mahogany eagle lectern, select 'Study Lectern', make your house tablets, and sit back and relax! The process is quite long, so make sure you have something to do on the side. Once they've all been made, teleport away to a bank, and do it all over again!
Killing Chaos Druids - 200k/h
Requirements: Combat stats to kill multiple level 13s
Chaos Druids have always been the low-level secret to OSRS riches, ask any Runescape player! To kill these extremely easy level 13s, all you need is some very basic weaponry, and if you've got a looting bag, bring that as well. Yes, we will be in level 1-4 wilderness, which is quite safe, but still poses a danger, so don't bring anything you wouldn't want to lose! Personally, we recommend bringing just a glory and a scimitar, but that's up to you.
With your gear, head to Edgeville, and more specifically, the underground entrance to the Edgeville Dungeon, as shown on the map. Once you're in the dungeon, head north, then east, then north again to the Chaos Druid area. To get in, you'll need to pass the wilderness gates. From there, it's as simple as killing them, looting up, heading back up to the surface, banking and doing it all over again! Quick tip - to make sure you don't accidentally skull up on anyone, turn your player attack options to 'Always Right Click.'
Stringing Yew Longbows - 250k/h
Requirements: 70 Fletching
AFK, good money, good experience, relatively low requirements, what more could you ask for from an OSRS Money Making method? To string Yew Longbows, all you'll need is a bunch of unstrung yew longbows, and the same amount of bow strings.
With your unstrung yew longbows and bow strings banked, you'll need to find a spot to spend the next few hours in (presuming you'll be doing this method for a while). Your new spot, for efficiency sakes, must be 1 tile away from a bank, so you can have quick 1-click access to your bank. We recommend places such as the Grand Exchange in Varrock, so that you can sell your bows right after you make them all, but you can virtually go to any and all banks. In your spot, simply open up your bank, withdraw 14 unstrung yew longbows, and 14 bow strings. Use them on each other, and you'll be brought with an interface, where you can simply select 'Longbow,' 'Make all,' and sit back and relax. It's straightforward from here, just bank, and repeat!
Making Oak Planks - 340k/h
Requirements: 50 Firemaking, Enlighted Journey Quest, Balloon Transport System Unlocked
Oak planks are one of the most heavily used construction materials in Runescape, so it only makes sense that there's a lot of money to be made making them. For this OSRS money making method, you'll need coins (6500 for every willow log), some willow logs, oak logs (exactly 26 times the amount of willow logs), and some Rings of Dueling (1 Ring of Dueling for every 8 Willow Logs).
With all your items, head over to Castle Wars (via your Ring of Dueling teleport). Withdraw from the bank, 26 oak logs, a willow log, and 6500 coins (for efficiency sake, we recommend bringing along your whole cash stack). From there, run north, out of castle wars, and to the Balloon, and travel to Varrock.
Once you're at Varrock, simply head a bit north, and you'll be at the lumberyard, where you'll find the Sawmill Operator. Talk to him and choose to 'Buy Planks'. Once you've converted all your logs into planks, use your Ring of Dueling and head back to Castle Wars, starting the whole process all over again, until you've run out of oak logs.
Charging Air Orbs - 350k/h
Requirements: 66 Magic
For quite a low magic requirement, charging air orbs is extremely worthwhile, considering how AFK it is. For this method, you'll need an Amulet of Glory (with charges), an Air Staff, Unpowered Orbs (1 for each air orb you wish to make) and Cosmic Runes (3 for each air orb you wish to make).
To start, with your charged Amulet of Glory and Air Staff, head over to the Edgeville bank. From there, withdraw 81 cosmic runes and 27 unpowered orbs from your bank (unnoted, of course). Now, simply head south to the Edgeville Dungeon entrance, and climb down the trapdoor.
![Osrs dense essence mine Osrs dense essence mine](/uploads/1/1/9/7/119738836/150915836.jpg)
If you remember earlier from our Chaos Druid guide, you'll know that to get to the Chaos Druids, you'll need to head north, east, then north again to the Wilderness gate (scroll up to the map visual). We'll be doing the same thing for charging air orbs; however, the route doesn't stop at the Chaos Druids. Once you're at the Chaos Druids, you'll need to head to the most North-West region of the small wilderness area, past the black demons, and you'll find a ladder. From there, simply climb the ladder and you've reached the Air Obelisk.
Now, to charge air orbs, you'll need to head to your spell book. Towards the bottom right, you'll see a Level 66 spell called 'Charge Air Orb.' And yes, you guessed it, that's what we'll be using. Select it, then select the Air Obelisk right next to your character. Now sit back and relax, as the game will do everything else for you.
Keep in mind, you will be in level 7 wilderness for this method. Even though it is quite safe, you will most probably encounter a player killer here and there. Therefore, as the principle goes, do not bring anything you are not willing to lose. For even more safety, so that you don't accidently skull up on anyone, set your Player Attack Option to 'Always Right Click.'
Once all your air orbs are made, simply teleport to Edgeville with your Amulet of Glory, bank, repeat and watch the Runescape GP flow in!
Casting Tan Leather - 410k/h
Osrs Dense Essence Block
Requirements: 78 Magic, Lunar Diplomacy and the Hard Fremennik Diaries.
When we were noobs, we all used to tan leather at Al Kharid. Surprisingly, with this method, we'll be going back to our roots, but this time - at a much greater gold per hour rate, and some good magic exp! For this Runescape money making method you'll need a fire staff, astral runes (2 for every 5 leather you wish to make), nature runes (1 for every 5 leather you wish to make) and some blue dragonhides (same amount which you would like to tan into leather).
With all your items banked, your lunar spell book activated, and your fire staff equipped, head to any bank. The Grand Exchange would be the most efficient, since you can quickly sell and buy Blue Dragon Leather and Blue Dragonhides once you've finished tanning all your hides.
To start tanning your hides, withdraw your stack of nature runes and astral runes, as well as 25 unnoted Blue Dragonhides. Go over to your spell book, select the 'Tan Leather' spell and keep using it until you've tanned all 25 Blue Dragonhides in your inventory. From there, it's as easy as banking your leather, and withdrawing 25 more Blue Dragonhides. (Quick tip, before you start buying hides, test the prices out to see if they are still viable)
Crafting Blood Runes - 550k/h
Requirements: 77 Runecrafting, 38 Mining, 38 Crafting and 100% Arceuus Favor.
In OSRS, crafting Blood Runes gives a ridiculous amount of profit, considering how simple it is to make. Let's run through the steps on how to craft blood runes and make bank in the process! For this method, you'll need a chisel and any pickaxe you can use (scroll up to the 'Mining Iron Ore' guide, we went through the pickaxes you should be using for each mining level). For even more profits, we recommend weight-reducing gear, such as graceful armor.
To start, head over to the Blood Altar, north of the Arceeus House Library in the Great Kourend. Doing this method, you should have 100% Arceeus favor, so we don't have to run you through getting to the Arceeus house. But for some reason you forgot, the Arceeus house is in the northern part of the Great Kourend. Keep in mind, you won't need a talisman or tiara of any sorts to enter the blood altar.
Before we actually craft the runes themselves, we'll need to mine dense essence at the dense runestone mine, turn them into dark essence blocks at the dark altar, and chip them into dark essence fragments. And if that wasn't tedious enough, you'll need to do that whole process again. But trust us - it's worth it!
To mine dense essence, you'll need to head to the dense runestone mine (with a chisel in your inventory), which is the blue highlighted area on the map. Once you've mined up a full inventory, you'll need to head to the Dark Altar, just west of the mine. It's labelled on your map, and we've also provided a visual. At the Dark Altar, simply click on it to Venerate your dense essence blocks into dark essence blocks. From here, it's as simple as just using your chisel on the blocks to make dark essence fragments. Now, here's the fun part - you'll need to do all of that again, except the chiseling part!
With your second stack of dark essence blocks, you'll now need to take a relatively medium distance run to the Blood Altar. Check our visual if you're unsure where the Blood Altar is.
You've done the hard part, now it's the part you've been waiting for. Simply hit 'Bind' on the Blood Altar, and you'll have a stack of blood runes in your inventory. Now, just chisel the rest of your dark essence blocks into fragments and bind with the Blood Altar again for another stack of Blood Runes. Now, just rinse and repeat!
Hunting Black Chinchompas - 785k/h
Requirements: 73 Hunter
Osrs Dense Essence Block
Here we are, we've reached the pinnacle of our OSRS money making methods. And what no better way to end it off, then a classic favorite amongst Runescape players, Black Chinchompas! For this method, you'll need some basic, cheap gear to defend against potential player killers, food to defend against player killers, 6 box traps (however, it's always good to bring some spares), steel darts (or any type of ranged weapon you feel comfortable with), an Ava's Accumulator (so you don't lose most of your steel darts) and a charged Amulet of Glory. We usually go out to hunt Black Chinchompas, in the gear shown in the visual.
With all your gear equipped, and you're items in your inventory, it's time to head out to the Wilderness! To get to the hunting spot, we'll be taking the Edgeville Canoe. You'll be able to find this canoe right next to the Grand Exchange, but just in case you didn't, we provided you with a visual. With the canoe, use the 'A Waka.' You'll be then brought just shy west of the Black Chins. It's a simply eastwardly walk to get to the place located on our map.
It's time to make some money! To catch these black chinchompas, array your box traps like we have done in the visual (if you've only got 5 box traps, remove either the northwest box trap, or the northeast box trap). The rest is quite straightforward, simply collect your traps once they've caught a chinchompa or been dismantled. However, if you remember, we told you to bring a ranged weapon, such a steel dart. Well, they come in handy if the Chinchompas start to stray away, to hit them once to get them back to you.
Osrs Banking Dense Essence
When you want to go back to the mainland, simply head south a few Wilderness levels, use your Amulet of Glory to head back to Edgeville, and start the whole process again!
Osrs Dense Essence
And with that, we conclude our OSRS Making Making methods. Make sure you try them all, and find which one works for you, and you'll be on the steady road to Runescape riches!
